Three functions of titanium
Functional materials are engineering materials with physical properties, that is, materials with special properties in electricity, magnetism, sound, light, heat and other aspects, or with special functions under their action. Through the study of titanium and titanium alloy, it is found that it has three special functions and has a promising application.
1. Memory function
Ti-ni alloy has unidirectional, bidirectional and omnidirectional memory effects at a certain ambient temperature, and is widely used as the best memory alloy. For example, in engineering, pipe joints are used for the oil pressure system of fighter aircraft, in aerospace aircraft, 0.5mm diameter silk is used to make a 500mm diameter parabolic mesh antenna, and in medical engineering, it is used to treat snoring.
2. Superconducting function
When the temperature is below the critical temperature, the titanium - niobium alloy exhibits zero resistance superconducting function. This is Titanium Welded Tube.
3. Hydrogen storage function
Titanium-ferroalloy has the property of hydrogen absorption, storing a large amount of hydrogen safely and releasing it in a certain environment. It has promising applications in hydrogen separation, hydrogen purification, hydrogen storage and transportation, and the manufacture of heat pumps and batteries using hydrogen as energy.
